Whatever: Wham, Bam, Thank You Spam
While I can see the symbolic importance of this decision, I fail to see how examining individual pieces of spam and filing suit on each example will ever work. To stem the ever-growing tide of cruft we really need a sweeping proclamation which makes sending spam risky at best. Offering a bounty for the heads of known spammers might be a good place to start.

Hmm: Sony is killing PlayStation mod-chips
Call me silly, but I've always thought that there has to be a way to produce a mod chip specifically for removing zoning restrictions without opening the console to pirated games. Obviously Sony could do this, but they, along with the thousands of DVD producers out there, have a vested interest in keeping zoning restrictions in place. Then again, I find it very hard to believe the relatively small number of consoles equipped with such chips could ever pose a serious threat to Sony's revenues.

Whoa: MS rolls out security obscurity bribe program
I knew Microsoft was serious about wanting to keep their bugs private, but this astounds even me. Basically all you have to do to set up shop is hire a couple MCSEs and cough up a mere $1500 a year. Microsoft will then shower your endeavor with goodies.
Once again Microsoft marketing has turned a negative (for them) into a positive (for them yet again). I mean, who in their right mind would set up a consulting firm based around promoting open source wares when they can get all this free swag from Microsoft?
